Trust Is Hard
From an early age we have been manipulated and molded by our social norms. I believe to a certain point that, Thomas Hobbes, was right. Humans were born selfish and/or egotistic. As a child most of us are just selfish and envious of others. We instinctively just want to have everything to ourselves if they don't get what they want they'll start to cry. We grow up thinking that you need to only take care of yourself and worry about yourself. Being pressured by parents to get a better education because they didn't get the same exact chance that you were given. People get taken advantage of, and the selfish people somehow manipulate people so they can gain from it. There are very few people who are generally good, but everyone has done a random act of kindness that had no benefit towards them. No matter how right Hobbes was, every one has some good in them.
